We are all apprentices in a craft where no one ever becomes a master.
Good advice from Ernest Hemingway for anyone who is new at what they do and great advice for anyone who has done what they do for a long time. If you are a member of a team this advice is essential. Take for example the thought that when something goes well for your team the natural inclination is that the ego sees the individual’s contribution as the action that drove the result. Silo thinking falls apart when it goes wrong. Out of fear for survival we all look for the catalyst for failure using statements like “the weak link”.
When a team sees value in sharing success and failure alike and sees contribution as equality then growth through learning and sharing knowledge result in a strong foundation.
Its leadership stuff.
Be a leader.
