I have to ask.
What does perseverance mean to you?
On Saturday night my wife and I spent a quiet night at home. We made dinner together, had a couple glasses of wine, got caught up on the week’s events and settled into our evening. We had planned to watch a couple of movies. By the way, I like to say films but I know that can seem pretentious so I will stick with movies. I am, after all, a movies kind of guy.
The first was Silver Linings Playbook. Yes, finally.
Nothing short of brilliant. I can’t say enough about the fantastic acting in that film…er, movie. Simply beautiful. We were feeling a little fired up by that experience so we decided to venture down an entirely different path and watch a second movie. Shocker! I know!
Blinking twice we followed The Bitter Buddha down the rabbit hole.
So, I truly feel like I just crawled out from under a rock. Eddie Pepitone is a guy I have never experienced before in my life. How could this guy been in the comedy world for 30 plus years and lived in such obscurity for most of it.
I was blown away. Eddie is a funny, funny man. Angry, inappropriate, nowhere near politically correct and generally an arsehole (a lovable arsehole, if there’s such a thing). You can’t help but like this guy. He has plied his trade for 30 friggin’ years and has never really gotten a break.
He now appears to be the darling of the comedy world……at least with his peers……‘nuf said.
Eddie can teach us all a little about perseverance.
Have you have ever thought of giving up on something because it’s hard?
Give your head a shake.
Go visit Eddie.
That brings us to today’s quote.
How can I not honour the guy who made my Saturday night? Believe me, we have never laughed so hard. THE TRUTH is so god-damn funny, right? If you have never experienced Eddie Pepitone then this quote might be lost on you. Well, no, actually. It won’t be.
If that doesn’t brighten your day then maybe this will.
Have a great Monday and an awesome week.
